Workshop | Collective Uncensored Photography

Photography and Creative Practice for Collective Self-Knowledge through Uncensored Storytelling

with Adrián Coto

Photography becomes a tool for artistic experimentation, self-discovery, and collective uncensored storytelling in this participatory workshop led by Adrián Coto. Through writing, movement, collaborative exercises, and image-making, participants will explore intimacy, desire, identity while developing an intuitive visual language.

Working within a consent-led environment and alongside performers from the adult film industry, participants will collaboratively conceive, direct, and create explicit photographic images. Together, the group will explore how uncensored photography can become a space for creativity, agency, vulnerability, and political expression.

Open to all experience levels, the workshop values curiosity, collaboration, and experimentation over technical expertise, inviting participants to co-create a unique collective artwork while reflecting on the ethics, aesthetics, and possibilities of explicit image-making.

This methodology is rooted in Adrián Coto's experience as a martial artist, meditation practitioner, and visual artist, approaching art as a practice of self-knowledge and self-creation.

This event is open to people of all genders and backgrounds. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward xenophobia, homophobia, ableism, or any form of discrimination. The venue is partly accessible and includes an accessible bathroom, cloakroom, and changing room.

Opening UNCENSORED Festival 2026, this programme presents a selection of films from our International Open Call exploring intimacy in all its forms—both explicit and non-explicit. The films celebrate human connection, vulnerability, pleasure, care, and desire across diverse identities and lived experiences. From queer intimacy and disability to body autonomy, consent, and emotional connection, they offer thoughtful and often unexpected perspectives on what intimacy can look like on screen.

This year, UNCENSORED Festival expands its International Open Call beyond explicit cinema, embracing films that explore intimacy in all its forms. At the same time, contemporary cinema is increasingly engaging with themes long explored by sex-positive, erotic filmmaking and pornography—from pleasure and desire to consent, body autonomy, disability, queer relationships, and diverse expressions of human connection.

Bringing together filmmakers from this year's International Open Call, this panel explores how contemporary cinema is reshaping the representation of bodies, pleasure, desire, intimacy, and sexuality on screen across both explicit and non-explicit filmmaking. Together, the panel reflects on how filmmakers are challenging conventional narratives, expanding the possibilities of representation, and redefining what intimacy can look like on screen.

The panel will be co-moderated by Lidia Ravviso and Emily Horn. Lidia is the founder and co-director of UNCENSORED Festival, co-programmer of the London Fetish Film Festival, multi-award-winning film director working in adult cinema, Intimacy Coordinator, and Head of Cultural Programme at Stück.

Emily is a PhD student based in Liverpool, with a background in producing arts festivals and events. Her PhD research focusses on contemporary porn as a site of artistic expression, activism and community building. Emily has joined the Uncensored team for the first time this year, working on communications, promotion and volunteer coordination.
